United Arab Emirates (Coins)

The sheikdoms of Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah and Umm al Qaiwain proclaimed the Federation of Arab Emirates on December 2nd, 1971. The residence of Sheikh Sajed bin Sultan in Abu Dhabi was declared the provisional capital. By mid-February 1972 the seventh Gulf sheikdom, Ras al Khaimah, joined the Federation.
