Originating from the center of the once powerful Ottoman Empire, modern Turkey came into existence after the collapse as a sequel of World War I on October 29, 1923. Mustafa Keemal Pasha (Atarurk) was at the head of the National Turks dating the time of the struggle for independence from 1919 to 1923. As the country’s president, he championed reforms and created a state patterned on the West. Mustafa Kemal Pasha was given the surname of Ataturk, which means father of the Turks.

Small silver coin has nice natural medium gray appearance. Unique design and pleasant eye appeal. Nice detail for the fine grade, but the coin does sport a rim hit 2 o’clock obverse. If you can live with this mark, this is a hard issue to find. (View image for more detail.)
