The ruler of the Wahhabis, Ibn Saud, united Asir and Hejaz with his ancestral country, the Nejd, and in 1927 ordered himself proclaimed “King of the Hejaz, the Nejd, and its independent territories”. Since September 20, 1932 the country’s name is Saudi Arabia.
