Qatar and Dubai (Coins)

Despite the fact that the emirate of Qatar and the sheikdom of Dubai have merged under a Monetary Union, the two territories and governed independently from each other. Qatar, which was formerly under British patronage since 1916, is a sultanate, located on the Persian Gulf, declared its independence on September 1st, 1971. Dubai is a sheikdom situated on the south shore of the Persian Gulf and represents one of the seven Trucial states.
