Netherlands East Indies (Coins)

The establishment of the Netherlands East Indian Company in 1602 resulted in the first trading posts in the area of today’s Indonesia. The Japanese occupied the entire area from 1942 to 1945. Dutch administration, limited since 1945 to only part of the island state, ended completely with the establishment of the Indonesian Republic, and the Conference of The Hague on December 28, 1949.
