Indonesia (Coins)

On August 17th, 1945, under the leadership of Sukarno and Hatta, the proclamation of the Indonesian Republic within the realm of the former Dutch East Indies took place. It was only after the end of the Dutch police action to restore the old order, and the Conference to the Hague on December 28th, 1949, that Indonesia obtained full sovereignty over all the islands, with the exception of Dutch New Guinea. This territory passed to Indonesia after an interim period.
