British West Africa (Coins)

Until they issued their own currencies the territories of the British Cameroons (since 1961 part of the Cameroons), British Togoland (since 1957 linked with Ghana), Gambia, the Gold Coast (since 1957 called Ghana), Nigeria and Sierra Leone formed together an administrative grouping under the name of British West Africa. Coinage now obsolete.

Monetary System

12 Pence = 1 Shilling

20 Shillings = 1 Pound
