Arab Sheikdom on the Persian Gulf. British Protectorate since 1861 and independent since August 14th, 1971. The Bahrain Dinar has been legal tender October 16, 1965. In parallel with the Dinar, the socalled Gulf Rupee still remained legal tender until October 25, 1969.
