Azores (Coins)

Area: 922 square miles                              Population: 330,000

This island group in the Atlantic was discovered in 1432 by the Portuguese, Cabral, named after the birds found on the islands the Hawk Islands taken possession of in 1445 in the name of Portugal and since then considered to be an interrogated part of the motherland, on which legitimate and exile governments set up bases and from where they were able to regain the motherland. The strategically important location of the island group should be able to prevent a fundamental change in the situation in the future.
